KESH to export 430,000MWh of electricity in March
TIRANA, March 8lbania is exporting electricity surpluses due to a sharp rise in hydropower output stemming from high water levels, the domestic Shqip newspaper reported.
Albanian Power Corporation will collect 16 million euros from exporting 430,000 MWh of electricity to several energy companies abroad in March, the newspaper said.
The Balkan country’s electricity exports for January and February this year were 471,200 MWh, and 444,028MWh in full-year 2009 totalling 23,912,360 euros, Shqip added.
Water levels at plants in the country are currently high, leading authorities to eye sales in markets abroad.
